If you like Panic! at the Disco, Gym Class Heroes, This Is Ivy League, All-American Rejects, and Fall Out Boy, then you’ll go bananas over Cobra Starship, one of the latest US bands to catch on with the skateboard-surfing, punk/pop-loving crowd.

Fronted by Gabe Saporta (who, apparently, while pondering his future in an Arizona desert, was bitten on the neck by a cobra; hence one of the inspirations for the band name), Cobra Starship fuse snippy punk/pop tunes with synth/keyboard riffs and the kind of close-knit harmonies that give contemporary noise-pop a good name. These New Yorkers ain’t snooty, either: collaborations have been conducted with the likes of Gossip Girl actress Leighton Meester and American Idol’s Kara DioGuardi.
