Back in 2006, the Bodytonic crew took over a down-at-heel boozer in the city centre and went to work on it. Five years on they’re still in situ and the Bernard Shaw (née Bambrick’s and Sonny Kines) is now thumping and throbbing with club nights and live gigs seven days a week, as well as some tasty food offerings.
To mark a half-decade in the business, Optimo DJs Keith McIvor and Jonnie Wilkes (below) join the fray. The Glaswegian pair’s longstanding Sub Club residency established their rep for head-spinning sounds, helped by a ream of compilations (Kill the DJ, Psyche Out, Sleepwalk).
Aside from McIvor and Wilkes, today also features a formidable supporting cast including Tayor, Conor L, Joma and DJs from the venue’s Forward/Slash, Scribble, Toejam and Big Blue Bus crews. Watch out for YouTube videos of the carnage on the Monday.
