Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, the first local authority in Ireland to engage the services of a composer-in-residence, has extended the period of Stephen Gardner's residency to October next. Gardner will use the extension to write a work for the Crash Ensemble, and will also be giving composition and music theory clinics at libraries in Dundrum, Dalkey and Shankill. Details of the clinics can be had from the council's arts office on 01 205 4749.
