Right - it's now the end of the summer season and time to do something about your skin before the really cold weather sets in. If you are one of those foolish people who has disregarded all sound advice and exposed large amounts of flesh to the elements over the past couple of months, then this is even more important. Too much sun is not only potentially dangerous - and this is true throughout the year - but also terribly ageing. Therefore, your first purchase for the autumn/winter season ought to be a large jar, bottle or tube of moisturiser. Apply lavishly from now on and you will at least be able to salvage something from the summer. Look for a cream with a high SPF (sun protection factor) because even though here in Ireland the amount of direct sunshine is relatively limited, those harmful rays can still get through. Plus a good dollop of moisturiser should help dispose of those dry patches with which everyone is afflicted. Soft skin is much nicer to the touch - your own, and very possibly someone else's too.
