Let's hear it for music supervisors for movies and TV – if it weren't for them, singer- songwriter Joshua Radin would still be busking in Shaker Heights, Ohio. Radin's songs have been heard in some 75 films and TV shows, among them Scrubs, Grey's Anatomy, Gossip Girland One Tree Hill. On foot of such exposure, T he Rock and the Tideis now being given a big-push European reissue following last year's "soft" US release. You can understand why Radin's soft-centred folk/rock is so popular. Reminiscent of Paul Simon's classy templates, songs such as S treetlight, The Ones With the Light, We Are Only Getting Better, Think I'll Go Insideand the title track might not win any awards for originality, but as summery soundtracks go they're Bacardi Breezer perfect.
