Yuletime in clubland has seen a welcome move away from the focus on New Year’s Eve. More and more heavyweight bills are now happening on the nights around Christmas itself. Pre-Christmas visitors to these shores include Alex Metric, Dr Lektroluv (both Fri, Dublin), Green Velvet (Sat, Belfast), Ferry Corsten (Sun, Belfast) and Dave Clarke (Fri, Waterford; Sat, Dublin).

There are also some meaty Irish bills, with Hidden Agenda’s bash featuring Toby Kaar, Krystal Klear and the excellent Frank B (Sat, Dublin) and Leeds-based Wicklow native Gavin Herlihy at Melodic (Fri, Dublin) worth checking out.

Stephen’s Day/Boxing Day attractions include Shine with James Zabiela and Seth Troxler in Belfast; the Upstairs/Downstairs fund-raiser for Cork’s Penny Dinners at the Pavilion; and, in the capital, a Pogo date for Mano Le Tough and the Mongo Selection Box with dozens of local DJs and acts at the Grand Social.
