Georgian bookcase may fetch £4,000

Town and Country auctioneers are briefly moving out of Dublin for a sale tomorrow afternoon in Co Laois. The contents of Fort Belvedere, near Portlaoise, are to be auctioned as the house's owners have now moved to a smaller property.

In addition, the contents of a Dublin diocesan house are also included in this sale. Among the best of the 300 lots being sold tomorrow are a Georgian four door bookcase (estimate £3,000-£4,000) and a Regency mahogany sofa table (£2,000-£3,000). There is also a large four leaf, mahogany dining table and a set of 10 balloon back dining chairs, both by Strahan, and they expected to make £3,000-£4,000 and £1,800-£2,200 respectively.
