Art-deco lamps among Dublin Castle items

A collection of art-deco lamps, varying from table ones to ornate wall and ceiling lights, will be among the items for sale at the Dublin Castle antiques and collectables fair tomorrow. The jewellery section will feature examples from the Victorian and Edwardian period, including engagement and dress rings, gold and silver bracelets, fobs and Albert chains. This fair will also carry a range of Irish language books and maps, as well as oils and prints, linen and lace and other items of interest. Held, as usual, in the Old Coach House, the event opens at 10.30 a.m.

Signed first edition of `Finnegan's Wake'

A first edition of Joyce's Finnegan's Wake, published in 1939 and signed by the author, will be among the items relating to Bloomsday at the next National Book Fair on Sunday, June 14th. Like all such fairs, it shall be held at the Masonic Hall on Molesworth Street in Dublin from 10 a.m. A good turnout of booksellers is expected, offering - in addition to Joycean material - a wide selection of Irish history and literary material, together with maps and prints.
