Viewing begins tomorrow at 2 p.m

Viewing begins tomorrow at 2 p.m. for next Wednesday's autumn sale of Irish Art at the James Adam showrooms, 26 St Stephen's Green, Dublin. Two paintings by Jack B. Yeats - Breezy Day: Duck Street and Through the Streets to the Hills - are expected to make between £35,000 and £45,000 each. Other works by the modern Irish masters going under the hammer include Paul Henry's 1924 oil of Cottages by a Western Lake (£30,000-£35,000). Walter Osborne, Norah McGuinness, Maurice MacGonigal, Evie Hone, Stephen McKenna and Brian Bourke are also represented. And, for those who missed last week's column there will be much popular interest in the collection of art (including a portrait of Charles Haughey) owned by Terry Keane and which is included in the sale. Viewing continues on Monday and Tuesday from 9.30 a.m.-5 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9.30 a.m.-noon. The auction begins at 2.15 p.m. on Wednesday.

There is a house auction of furniture at Dunrath, 9 Elton Park, Sandycove, Co. Dublin. today at 2 p.m. Items include a Georgian Irish mahogany side table (estimate, £2,000-£3,000), an Edwardian mahogany side cabinet with a bowed top (estimate, £1,000-£1,500) and a Georgian bureau bookcase (estimate, £1,800-£2,200). Garden ornaments include a pair of terracotta urns and covers (estimate, £2,000-£3,000) and a large bronze fountain (estimate, £2,400-£2,800).
