Get yourself to sunny Dún Laoghaire next weekend for the second edition of the Underground Cinema Film Festival. Taking in five venues – including the IMC Cinema and the Royal Marine Hotel – the jamboree is to present 70 short Irish films, 15 independent features, an Irish-language section and an array of impressive workshops. Among those attending are Una Kavanagh, Edwina Forkin, Vinny Murphy and Ferdia MacAnna. The festival will host the Dublin premiere of Terry McMahon’s controversial Charlie Casanova and will present a 20th anniversary screening of Alan Parker’s The Commitments.
