Mouse House retains Miramax

It looks as if Bob and Harvey Weinstein, creators of Miramax, now owned by Disney, have failed to buy back the company named for their parents.

The Mouse House and the brothers had reportedly been discussing a deal worth $625 million, but it seems disputes over the small print ultimately proved insoluble. The company has not produced a hit in years, but its back catalogue, comprising over 700 movies, still generates serious coin.
