Reel News’s good friend Jessica Chastain has “hit out” (that’s the right cliché, I think) at suggestions that she is involved in a feud with fellow Oscar nominee Jennifer Lawrence.
That beacon of reliability, ShowBiz Spy, had suggested Chastain was upset over jokes Lawrence made while hosting Saturday Night Live. "Jessica Chastain? More like Jessica Chast-ain't winning an Oscar on my watch," the star of Silver Linings Playbook quipped.
The article, which was headlined "Jessica Chastain hates Jennifer Lawrence", never sounded all that plausible. Chastain, nominated for Zero Dark Thirty, has confirmed that she has no plans to waterboard Lawrence any time soon.
"I find it very sad that the media makes up bogus stories about women fighting in this industry," she said on her Facebook site. Good for her.
