From today, the Dublin Chinese New Year Festival kicks off its film beano in several venues throughout Dublin and – courtesy of Access Cinema – cinemas elsewhere in the country. The event, presented in association with Etihad Airways, begins with a screening of Sacrifice, the latest historical epic from the master Chen Kaige, at Cineworld. The festival closes on January 23rd with an outing for Under the Hawthorn Tree, a romance set during the Cultural Revolution, at the Irish Film Institute. See cny.ie.
