Pogue at the Pod:Shane McGowan will appear on stage with Alabama 3 at their Tripod gig tomorrow night. The Pogues singer will do "several songs" with the London band.

Björk's Moomin great:Björk is following Karen O into the realm of kids' soundtracks. She has written The Comet Songfor the forthcoming Moomins film, due out next summer.

Gabriel goes indie:Peter Gabriel is to release an orchestral album of "reinterpretations" by contemporary indie acts next year. Scratch My Backwill feature Gabriel's take on songs by Arcade Fire, Bon Iver, Elbow and The Magnetic Fields, among others.
