- Stereolab hiatus:Stereolab have announced they're taking a break from music. Having finished touring their latest album, Chemical Chords, the Londoners decided a hiatus was required after 19 years.

- Two for Izibor:Irish pop starlet Laura Izibor will play two Irish dates next month (Tripod, May 28th and Cyprus Avenue, May 30th) in support of the release of her debut album Let the Truth Be Told.

- Best jazz of '09:A compilation of the best Irish jazz cuts of 2009, Way Out West, will be launched with a gig at Dublin's Button Factory on April 21st. The album features contributions from Morla, Trihorniphone, Organics, Hugh Buckley and others.
