Twisted Pepper, Dublin Tonight 9pm €10 before 11pm/€13 01-4743942
For your money tonight, you’ll get three hours of premier league, bad-ass heavyweight ghettotech from DJ Godfather plus a grand supporting cast at large on a roof in the heart of Temple Bar.
When it comes to tough, dirty, quick-speed bass music, there is only one DJ Godfather. Detroit DJ and producer Brian Jeffries has been preaching this bass gospel since 1996 with worldwide touring, lowdown hometown freakouts and releases for labels Databass and Twilight 76. The ghettotech evangalist has been a regular visitor to Dublin in the past so the audience for his heart- stopping, clued-in rub of electo, hip-hop and booty- bass will be out in force tonight.
There’s also an appearance tonight by Defekt, aka Dublin- based electro dude Matthew Flanagan, who has had a string of releases on the AC, Takeover and Newflesh labels. Disco Nouveau’s Jay Carroll and Tenth Planet’s Ene Kennan are also on the bill.
