A PAIR of 19th century Irish decanters made £1,840 last week at a Christie's sale of glass in their South Kensington auction rooms in London. The pair of club decanters and stoppers, made by the Cork Glass Company (circa 1800), had been expected to make between £800 and £1,200.
In the same sale a pair of early 19th century Irish mallet shaped decanters and stoppers were sold for £1,035 against a pre-sale estimate of £500-£700.
