Due to an error in the editing of a court report in last Saturday's editions, it was incorrectly stated that Mr Justice McCracken had made directions regarding the treatment of two children in the care of the Eastern Health Board. In fact, the directions were made by District Judge James Paul McDonnell and they have been challenged in judicial review proceedings taken by the EHB. Mr Justice McCracken has reserved his judgment on that challenge.

Where errors occur it is the policy of The Irish Times to correct or clarify as soon as practicable.
