What's that cloud approaching? Must be a flurry of talcum powder, signalling the return of the famously truculent trio. This is a MOR'n'b tune about a guy who's too shy to make a move. Well, he's probably afraid you'll bite his head off, girls.

The sensitive r'n'b boy wants to show that he can party like Snoop, so he's ordered in the champagne and canapés, cleared away a few chairs, and put on some of that crunk music so the laydeez can "get down". Just don't scratch his walnut floor with your stilettos, okay?

They tried to shake off the "Irish Busted" tag, but ended up as the "Irish Biffy Clyro". Now, those Rev boys are coming back with this spiky stomper about getting past your sell-by date. They need a truly great song, though, to keep from slip slidin' away.

They dress up in red T-shirts that spell out the band's name; they jump around like cheerleaders on 7-Up and sound like a bunch of kids rapping on Sesame Street about how brilliant the number six is. Yeah, I can really see the appeal here. Are they gone yet?

ARMAND VAN HELDEN When the Lights go Down Southern Fried Records **

The techno DJ has perfectly caught the wave of cheesy 1980s nostalgia, uncovering a song by Canadian rocker Nick Gilder, and simply adding a bit of a beat. Can't be long before someone polishes up Toni Basil's Mickey and sticks it out.

JULIETTE LEWIS & THE LICKS Got Love to Kill Hassle **

Looks like Juliette's taking this rock thing seriously, although I'm sure she wouldn't turn down Natural Born Killers 2 - European Vacation to play a gig in the Fleece & Firkin. She ain't no Patti Smith, but at least she ain't no Bonnie Tyler either.
