A Michael Jackson tribute gig featuring members of his family is on the cards for later this year, according to reports. The chief executive of concert promoters AEG, Randy Phillips – who was the mastermind behind Jackson’s 50 planned dates for London’s O2 Arena – said that he was “confident” that a plan would be put in place for a performance, using the same “This Is It” banner that the star was rehearsing for when he died.

Phillips said that he was hopeful that Janet Jackson and several of the Jacksons would participate in a birthday tribute for their brother on August 29th.

Jackson’s first gig at the O2 was scheduled for last Tuesday. Hundreds of fans gathered at the venue to leave messages, lay flowers and add items to the shrine, which has been steadily growing since June 25th.

Meanwhile, the range of merchandise that was manufactured for sale at the gigs has been put on sale via a website. Fans can purchase everything from commemorative T-shirts and mugs, to belt buckles, wallets and playing cards from www.michaeljackson merch.com
