A new two-year fellowship in global logistics funded by Thermo King, a specialist in transport temperature control systems, and administered by the National Institute for Transport and Logistics (NITL), was awarded yesterday.

The first recipient of the Fellowship, which includes study and research at Dublin Institute of Technology, an overseas study attachment and a period working at one of Thermo King's 15 global locations, is Ms Emer Murphy (25), of Kilmacthomas, Co Waterford, a UCD economics graduate. Funding for the fellowship includes the cost of overseas travel, and £7,500 towards accommodation and cost of living. The fellowship begins next month and a second fellowship will start in October 2000.
