ECONOMISTS WILL be keeping a close eye on Wednesday’s external trade figures, which are expected to show that a record high seasonally-adjusted trade balance was hit in May due to strong multinational exports and weak imports.

Private sector credit figures due to be published by the Central Bank on Friday will also be watched with interest.

In the US, further quarter two earnings reports are expected to set the tone for markets again this week.
