The Galaxy Nexus is the first Android phone with the latest version of the operating system installed. With face recognition to unlock your phone and a slicker interface, the Ice Cream Sandwich operating system could be the one that sees Android grow up.

As for the phone itself, it ticks all the right boxes. It is thin and light, but the touchscreen is still bigger than your average handset. It is almost imperceptibly curved too, so it sits nicely against your face.

It has a five-megapixel camera – not the highest quality on the market, but it does shoot video in HD. It’s speedy too, with a dual-core processor.

One electric toothbrush is as good as another, right? Wrong. The Oral-B Triumph will not only teach you how to brush your teeth properly, it will give you a wink and a smile when you’re done.

It comes with a wireless display that shows you how long you’ve been brushing and what type of programme you’re using – polishing, deep clean or whitening – and gives you visual cues when you need to move to a different section of your mouth.

There is a pressure sensor too, which alerts you if you’re brushing too hard and slows down the brush to help you avoid damaging your teeth.

While €205 may sound like a lot for a toothbrush, shopping around will get you up to 50 per cent off. And what price can you put on good dental health anyway?

With smartphones and tablets getting an increasing range of photo capabilities – some through better built-in cameras, others through applications – it was only a matter of time before printers aimed specifically at this market made an appearance.

You don’t need a computer to use this printer. The Photo Cube works with both iOS and Android devices, with a free app that you can download to make it work with whatever device you choose.
