SUN Microsystems, the US technology giant which employs 80 people in Dublin, yesterday reported record results for its fiscal third quarter. The company said revenues for the period ending March 30th stood at $2.115 billion (£1.37 billion), up 15 per cent on the previous year's $1.840 billion. Profits rose to $223.5 million, up from $143.3 million, a jump of 56 per cent.
Sun, which runs its European software operation from Dublin, has said it will increase its Irish workforce to over 100 in July, when it moves into a £4.5 million, purpose-built facility at East Point.
