Two Jordanian students face possible charges for attempting to set up an anti-Israel website, the press in Amman reported on Wednesday.

The English-language Jordan Times said the two, whose names have not been revealed but who studied at the Jordanian University in Amman, were arrested on October 15th. Their file was submitted to the public prosecutor on October 17th, who is still considering it.

The Arabic-language daily Al-Destour said the security services had seized diskettes on which the students had recorded the names of Jordanian individuals and companies which had links with Israel, along with anti-Israel cartoons and articles.

The Islamic weekly Al-Sabil said they could be charged with "slander" and "offending national feelings".
