A new WAP conferencing service, allowing both audio and data conferencing wirelessly, has been introduced by Spectel, the Irish company specialising in multimedia teleconferencing systems.

By integrating WAP functionality into its desktop conferencing application, Confertel 7000, mobile users can control and manage conferences anywhere.

The company says users can set up conferences via an interface on their mobile phone with the system sending notification to participants via e-mail, fax, pager or SMS with dial-in and pin numbers for security.
