Smurfit organises by product lines

Jefferson Smurfit Group has announced a restructuring of its European operations with its existing country structure being replaced by a product-based arrangement.

Mr Tony Smurfit, son of the group's executive chairman, Dr Michael Smurfit, will become chief executive officer, Smurfit Europe on October 1st when the restructuring becomes effective. The new European structure will comprise three separate divisions: corrugated, paper and specialities.
