Second conference centre plan

The Government is to consider a second proposal for a national conference centre in Dublin

The Government is to consider a second proposal for a national conference centre in Dublin. The £15 million centre, catering for 2,000 people, would be located at the top of O'Connell Street in the centre of the city.

Bord Failte is currently talking to the RDS about its proposal to build a conference centre at its headquarters in Ballsbridge. A spokeswoman for the Department of Tourism and Trade said it was expected a decision on the two proposals would be made by the end of June.
