THE Irish Travel Agents Association (ITAA) is to meet tomorrow to decide its next course of action in a row with Ryanair.
Travel agents are objecting to the Irish airline's decision to reduce the commissions it pays them, from 9 per cent to 7.5 per cent. The ITAA is balloting its members on whether they should handle Ryanair products, and said it had been very encouraged" by the response to date.
It said there has been similar support from the travel industry in England and Scotland. AT Mays, which represents 800 travel shops in Britain, has said that from May 1st it will no longer service Ryanair products unless the company reverses its decision. The ITAA's Scottish counterpart has also said that the commission cuts are unacceptable.
