Losses at Talk Talk Broadband Ltd grew from €939,000 to €1

Losses at Talk Talk Broadband Ltd grew from €939,000 to €1.6 million in the year ended March 2010, according to accounts just filed for the company.

Turnover at the company, which during the period was a subsidiary of Talk Talk Telecoms and had a registered address at the IDA business park in Waterford, dropped by 36 per cent from €35.7 million to €22.5 million during the same period.

The TalkTalk call centre in Waterford closed last autumn with the loss of 570 jobs.

The company, which was engaged in the provision of support, member maintenance and data processing services related to its online customers in the UK, received €1.5 million in government grants during the year, the accounts show.

Costs relating to the closure of the centre in October 2011 will be shown in the 2012 accounts.

The company employed 688 people during its 2010 financial year, the accounts state.
