REHAB Group, the independent rehabilitation organisation, for the disabled, says it could create 160 jobs if the legislation governing lotteries was changed in next week's Budget. The removal of the current £10,000 a week cap on private lottery prize funds would allow the Rehab lottery to compete more effectively with the National Lottery, claims Rehab.

This would create 20 jobs directly in Rehab Lotteries and another 160 in Rehab Care, which would provide services to over 500 people with significant disabilities.

Rehab has claimed it can create another 175 self financing jobs in Gandon Enterprises, its commercial operation that employs people with disabilities, if an additional £1.2 million in funding were available.
