McQUEEN, the Scottish computer information company, said yesterday it had acquired Rand McNally Media Services, which employs 100 people in Shannon. A spokeswoman said the firm was "delighted" to take on the Irish staff as it had ambitions to move into Ireland anyway. The Shannon employees provide an integrated manufacturing service for software makers selling in different national markets, including a call centre. While the McQueen spokeswoman could not make commitments on the possibility of new jobs in Ireland, she said that the company would definitely expand.
