The Commission on Credit Unions has announced a public consultation process on the role of credit unions, including their current operating model, governance standards and regulation.

Prof Donal McKillop, who chairs the commission, said the commission recognised many members of the public, particularly the thousands who have worked for credit unions on a voluntary basis, “have a lot of experience and knowledge of credit unions that will enhance the work of the commission”. The deadline for submissions to the consultation is August 25th.
