Paddy Power Bookmakers is to move its online and telephone betting business to the UK today to avail of its 1 per cent tax on turnover for bookmakers. The move follows the decision by British Chancellor of the Exchequer Mr Gordon Brown to reduce the tax in his last budget, which comes into effect tomorrow, and changes brought in by the Horse Racing Act in Ireland which lifted restrictions on Irish people betting abroad.
