Hewlett-Packard has appointed Ms Mary Lou Nolan as a sales specialist at its European outsourcing centre in Leixlip, Co Kildare. A native of Dublin, Ms Nolan is a graduate of the College of Marketing and Design, Dublin.

Mr Colin Andrew, founder of Navan Resources, has been appointed executive operations director of Cambridge Mineral Resources. Mr Andrews, currently a non-executive director of the company, worked as a mining and exploration geologist after graduating from the Royal School of Mines, Imperial College, London.

Decision Support Systems, an independent computer company, has appointed Mr Cormac Reid as business manager of the DSS Communications Division.
Prof Maurice Boland has been appointed director of the National Agricultural and Veterinary Biotechnology Centre. He will head a team of more than 50 researchers at UCD's biotechnology centre.
