Mr Andy Bridson has been appointed acting managing director of NTL Ireland. A graduate of Liverpool University he joined NTL last October and was responsible for strategic direction and management of the business in Scotland and Ireland.
C & C has appointed Mr Brian Higgins as human resources director. Mr Higgins has a degree in industrial relations and personnel management from the National College of Ireland and previously worked as head of human resources with Irish Biscuits.
Mr Vic Goodwin has been appointed route director, central corridor, at Stena Line. He will be based at Holyhead Port and be responsible for the company's Dun Laoghaire/Dublin-Holyhead routes.

He will have overall responsibility for revenue, including sales and marketing, licence collection, the activities of RTE Commercial Enterprises and the development of new business. RTE has appointed Mr Peter Feeney freedom-of-information officer.
Mr Peter Owen has been appointed the first chairman of Travelforce, an online travel reservation company which has nine offices in Britain; one in New York and a Dublin office. Previously Mr Owen was Group chief executive of Aer Lingus and was involved in developing e-commerce.
Dell Computer Corporation has appointed Mr Aongus Hegarty as general manager small business division, Dell UK and Ireland. Mr Hegarty was previously managing director at Modus Media International and has held senior management positions at Digital Equipment Corporation. He will be responsible for Dell's business operations in the small business sector.

Rondomondo, Eircom's digital media venture, has appointed Mr Mark Tarbatt as sales and advertising manager and Ms Debbie Cleary who will be responsible for marketing its music and entertainment sites.
Mr Mark McCloskey has been promoted to general manager of the data division at Esat Telecom. He will be responsible for all strategic planning and revenue targets of all data services including both PostGEM and Global One in Ireland brands. Mr Gary Keogh has been promoted to sales director, data division in Esat Telecom.
