Jurys Doyle Hotel Group has made management appointments at five of its hotels. Ms Karen Cremins is general manager of Jurys Galway Inn; Ms Monica Friel is general manager of Jurys Custom House Inn; Ms Aileen Phelan is general manager of Jurys Hotel, Limerick; Mr Edward Stephenson is general manager of Jurys Christchurch Inn; and Ms Margaret Holian is general manager at Jurys Hotel, Cardiff.

Mr Tony Devine has been appointed as customer services manager of Dell Computer Ireland. He has previously held management positions within Compaq and Digital and was involved in establishing Digital's international call centre in 1994.

Watson Wyatt, the consultancy company, has appointed Ms Mary Southwell as senior consultant in its human capital practice. Ms Southwell previously worked in Dunnes Stores' human resource section.

Mr Tom Shanahan has been appointed managing director of Software Paths, the Irish-owned software consulting and training company. A chartered accountant, Mr Shanahan has worked for Motorola for 11 years and has held the positions of director of Eirpage and director of European wireless operations. The new president of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) Ireland is Mr Peter McGuinness, head of employment tax in PricewaterhouseCoopers in Belfast. Mr McGuinness, an ACCA member since 1980, has been with the company since qualifying as an accountant. He acts as a consultant on employee taxation issues and has lectured to other professional bodies.

Mr Michael Brady, FCMA, who is the sales director of Progressive Life, has been elected president of the Republic of Ireland division of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA).

Oniva, the new media consultancy, has announced the appointment of Mr Ciaron Nelis as business development manager. Previously with Indigo, he was responsible for corporate e-commerce and Web development solutions. Mr Neilis has four years experience in Internet and business development, specialising in the provision of company-wide Internet solutions for large organisations. Recent Oniva projects include websites for Telecom Eireann, Lucent Technologies and intranet applications for Nestle (UK) and Guinness.

Mr Ronan Brannigan and his wife, Mrs Anne Brannigan, have been appointed as the new general managers of Browne's Brasserie & Townhouse, St Stephen's Green. They previously worked in Switzerland with the Radisson Hotel Group and at the Forte Group Castle Hotel in Windsor.
