Meteor's customer base hits 500,000
Mobile phone group Meteor has signed up its 500,000th subscriber. Presenting Dubliner Adrienne Murphy with a €30,000 prize, Meteor's chief executive, Robert Haulbrook, said that the event marked an "important milestone in Meteor's development".
The company says that it now has a 12 per cent share of the market and claims that it has accounted for close to a half of all new mobile customers in the last six months.
E-net bids for fibre network clients
E-net, the group managing the State's regional fibre networks, has launched a marketing campaign to sign up companies close to the networks.
Chief executive Michael Tiernan said that the campaign, which will commence in the southeast, "brings together customers and providers of broadband services to ensure that the best use is made of the State's fibre network".
IT Alliance creates 30 jobs in Dublin
Irish outsourcing group IT Alliance has opened a new shared services centre in Dublin employing 30 people. The centre will provide back-office support in finance and human resources as well as project management.
IT Alliance, which was established in 1997, is one of Ireland's fastest growing IT companies and currently employs 250 people.
