THE IRISH Management Institute (IMI) has become the first Irish business school to be ranked in the Financial Times executive education rankings for the provision of customised education programmes for business managers.
The rankings, published in the Financial Times today, place the IMI in the top 65 providers of tailored programmes.
The list, which is in its 11th year, was topped by Harvard Business School, the Paris business graduate school Insead and Wharton in Pennsylvania. Business schools were ranked on criteria such as teaching methods and materials, facilities, value for money and international participation.
Irish institutions including Trinity and UCD have previously been ranked in the Financial Timesinfluential MBA rankings.
The IMI, based in Sandyford in Dublin, runs customised executive education programmes for CRH, Bord Gáis, ESB, Glanbia, IBM, Kerry, Ericsson, Nokia and Pepsi as well as public sector organisations such as Tourism Ireland.
“Recent research has clearly demonstrated that strengthening management capability will be a critical success factor in restoring Ireland’s competitiveness,” said IMI chief executive Tom McCarthy.
