ICS Building Society's new mortgage service centre would "give a wider balance to our income in the competitive years ahead", according to chairman Mr Frank O'Rourke.

The Bank of Ireland owned building society set up the service centre to process mortgages. The centre now processes all Bank of Ireland group domestic mortgages.

At the ICS annual general meeting yesterday, Mr O'Rourke said ICS was confident it would increase its share of the mortgage and deposit markets this year.
