Horgan's Delicatessen Supplies has begun a £2.6 million (€3.30 million) expansion and upgrade of its operation at Mitchelstown, Co Cork. It will treble its capacity to 3,000 sq. ft before the end of the year.

Mr Michael Horgan, managing director, said sales increased by 25 per cent over the past three years and should top £18 million this year. The business had expanded with exports to Britain and Northern Ireland and now services most of the major retailers.
