Greencore has sold five companies for €58 million (£46 million) as part of the disposal programme undertaken following its acquisition of Hazlewood foods. The group has raised €98 million to date from disposals following the $582 million acquisition of Hazlewood in January 2001.The companies included Hazlewood Convenience Foods Tilbur BV, a Dutch frozen meat snack business which trades as Ad van Geloven. It was sold to Gilde Participaties, a Dutch venture capitalist.
Three related fish processing companies, two in the Netherlands, Gebroeders Sterk BV and Diepvries Monnickendam BV, and one in the UK, Sterk UK, which process mainly coated and pre-fried flatfish, were sold to Belgian fish company Pieters Group. Wafel Janssen BV, a Dutch waffle manufacturer was sold to Dutch baked goods manufacturer Bakkersland Holding.
