Glencar appoints directors

Two directors have joined the board of Glencar Mining

Two directors have joined the board of Glencar Mining. Dr Robert Weinberg is a geologist with experience in investment banking and mining, while Mr Philip O'Quigley, Glencar's senior finance officer since 1997, becomes finance director.

Mr John Spence becomes sales account manager with HewlettPackard Ireland. He previously worked for 16 years with the company in London and will now be responsible for Irish financial and global business sectors.

Commercial General Union (CGU) Life has made Mr Cathal O'Toole operations manager with responsibility for customer services, administration and marketing.

Ms Orla Mitchell has become marketing manager of the dairies division of Kerry Foods. She joins the company from Nestle Ireland where she held the position of group manager in the confectionary division.

Ms Joanna Peare becomes a senior consultant with Prospectus, the firm which specialises in business strategy. Ms Peare previously worked in the marketing department of Ernst & Young.

Mr Noel Kavanagh, who retires as secretary from FBD Holdings, has been replaced by Mr David J Flynn.

Decision Support Systems has appointed Mr John Kennedy, sales director, to the board of the company. Mr Kennedy has been sales manager for three years.

Decision Support Systems provides IT services to the corporate market, with operations in Ireland, Spain, Poland and Germany.

The recruitment consultants, ETS, has appointed two new directors - Mr Joe Fagan and Ms Laura C Hughes. Mr Fagan concentrates on the marketing and placement of executive management personnel and provides advice to clients on industrial relations matters.

Ms Hughes joined the company three years ago after spending some years as a communications executive.

Mr Kevin Galligan becomes director of sales and marketing at Windmill Lane Pictures after working for several years as business development manager.

Ms Lucia Byrne joins the company as business development executive for new media. She previously worked in Los Angeles as sales and operations manager with a large production house.

Wavin Ireland, the manufacturer and distributor of pvc pipe systems, has made four new appointments.

Mr Dermot Mullen will assume responsibility for sales in the north Leinster area, while Ms Tracey Masterson joins the company's sales office.

Mr Tom Connolly becomes new product development engineer and Mr Paul Norton joins as information systems manager. He was previously with PWA International.

Acumen Recruitment, based in Bray, Co Wicklow, has appointed Mr Niall McAllistair as general manager.
