Galen buys US firm

Pharmaceuticals group Galen Holdings, based in Northern Ireland, has announced the acquisition of Interactive Clinical Technologies (ICTI). Based in New Jersey, ICTI provides services for clinical trials in the pharmaceuticals industry and will complement and strengthen Galen's clinical trial service business in Europe and the US. ICTI had net assets of $1 million (€885,000) as of March 31st, 1999. It employs about 30 people in the US and will continue to operate under its own name as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Galen.
