Frankfurt Dax: 4201.24 (+80.11)
Germany's DAX index showed no signs of giving up momentum yesterday as the blue-chip index ended bourse trade at a new record high after breaking the important 4,200-point barrier.
The 30-share DAX index was up 80.11 points at 4,201.24 points after reaching a new all-time high at 4,202.05 points. "The buy orders are coming into the market without end," said one Frankfurt dealer.
Paris CAC-40: 2998.01 (+37.31) The Paris Bourse also surged to a record closing high as the CAC 40 index came within easy striking distance of the 3,000-point level by finishing at 2,988.01 points. During the session, the indicator hit its highest point ever at 2,998.28 points. The closing figure represented a strong rise of 1.26 per cent for the day.
Milan Mibtel: 14381 (+277)
Italian shares continued their relentless climb yesterday, ending just off new Mibtel and Mib30 Bourse index highs set earlier in the day. Traded volumes were not at a record but were solid at over 2.5 trillion lire, and foreign investors were seen in the front line.
