Franchising frozen meals

WELCARE Foods, a Dublin based, frozen meals, home delivery service company, plans to expand its operations by offering franchises in six areas in Ireland. Set up by its managing director, Mr Matt Farrell, in May 1995, it currently operates in the greater Dublin area.

Employing five people, its turnover has expanded to £2,500 a week and is on target to break even by the end of this year, according to a spokesman. The company is associated with Waldens Wiltshire Foods in Britain which prepares some 25 million individual meals a year for local authorities, hospitals and schools.
