German shares see sawed with other jumpy European market, ending bourse trade mostly lower despite good news from the German debt market.
The market was edgy in advance of the expiry of Dax options contracts tomorrow and was also fearful of what would happen to US interest rates.
Traders were not pencilling in a rate cut at today's meeting of the Bundesbank and said a weaker dollar was not having a major impact.

French shares ended higher but off their best levels as Wall Street weakness sank some of the market's earlier gains, traders said.
The market traded higher earlier in the day on hopes the US stock market would advance significantly, said a senior salesman.

Italian shares ended fractionally stronger after losing most of the day's early gains as Wall Street slipped in early US trading. Lira weakness also affected the market.
