Cody appointed chairman of Revenue Commissioners

Niall Cody, a brother of the Kilkenny hurling manager Brian Cody, will take up the role at the beginning of February following the retirement of Josephine Feehily

Niall Cody will replace Josephine Feehily as the next chairman of the Revenue Commissioners.

Mr Cody, a brother of the Kilkenny hurling manager Brian Cody, will take up the role at the beginning of February following the retirement of Ms Feehily. He has been a member of the three-person commission since 2012, where has responsibility the tax authority's policy and legislation divisions, its large cases division and also the Collector General's Division.

Michael Noonan, the Minister for Finance, announced the appointment of Mr Cody on Tuesday afternoon.

The outgoing chairman, Ms Feehily, has been nominated by the Government to head the new independent policing authority, which has yet to be formally established.
