Dragon Oil's proven and probable reserves have increased by 65 per cent to 275 million barrels, according to the company's results for 1997. The company has also reported "good progress" on its Block II operations offshore Turkmenistan, where eight out of nine workovers have yielded successful results. The company made a pre-tax profit of £1.3 million last year, compared to a loss of £1.4 million the year before.
