Dublin-based company Connemara Mining has announced the discovery of two new gold zones on its Wicklow/Wexford exploration licences following the completion of major soil sampling programme.
The AIM-listed mining firm said 800 samples were collected on its licences, resulting in the discovery of a number of zones with significant gold enrichment.
“These zones are located in previously untested areas and close to known occurrences – notably Tombreen and Knocknalour.”
The results appeared to extend the Tombreen and Knocknalour occurrences, the company said. Connemara Mining holds five “gold prospective” licences in the Wicklow/Wexford area.
The recent sampling was conducted by Canadian gold exploring firm Hendrick Resources Ireland Limited.
